Let’s get started…
Introduction
I love repurposing content.
It’s one of my favorite content marketing strategies.
The ability to take an existing piece of long-form content and repurpose into microcontent across multiple platforms is a strategy that top content marketers swear by.
In this edition of the newsletter, I will give you a series of prompts that will allow you to take an existing long-form video and repurpose it into content on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram Reels, YouTube shorts, and Tweets (or any text-based post for that matter).
Let’s get to it.
Prerequisites
- ChatGPT-4
- Long form video or script
- ChatWithVideo OpenAI Plugin
As a note, you can actually execute this prompt with the free version of ChatGPT if you copy and paste the video script into the prompt.
But I am going to use the ChatWithVideo plugin to execute the prompt even faster.
Again, if you have ChatGPT-4, make sure you enable plugins. It’s an amazing new feature from OpenAI to level-up the functionality of ChatGPT.
The Prompt
Prompt #1:
Act as a social media content creator. Your task is to convert the long-form video transcript below into engaging and concise content that’s suitable for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Keep it fast-paced, captuiring the essential points of the original content. Focus on capturing the attention of the audience using engaging visuals, attractive soundbites and captions that provide context to the content. Consider dividing the video into multiple sections to enable creating a series of short videos, each with it’s own script that is at least 60 seconds in length. When creating your script, ensure you maintain the tone and any specific elements from the original presentation.
Here’s the video: [INSERT VIDEO LINK or TRANSCRIPT]
Example Output
I used one of my own videos for this example, which can be found here for reference
Prompt #2:
Great, now I want you act as a digital marketing and direct response copywriting expert. I want you to reread the original script. Provide me with 5 tweets in the same voice and tone as the speaker. Each tweet should stand on it’s own. Don’t make them part of a series or thread. No hashtags. No emojis. Direct. Compelling to read
Example Output
Final Thoughts
That 1 video (which was only 10 minutes long), produced at least 4 short form videos and 5 tweets.
But don’t stop there.
Get more tweets.
Write LinkedIn posts.
You can create 20, 30, 40+ pieces of content from any long form video.
As a final note, you don’t just have to apply this strategy to your own video. You can use any video and extract posts/tweets from the transcript.
I’ll share that with you in the next edition of the newsletter.
Until then, happy prompting!
